Patapsco Valley State Park
Patapsco Valley State Park is a Maryland state park extending along 32 miles (51 km) of the Patapsco River south and west of the city of Baltimore, Maryland. The park encompasses multiple developed areas on over 14,000 acres (5,700 ha) of land, making it Maryland's largest state park. In 2006, it was officially celebrated as Maryland's first state park, its first formation being in 1906. Patapsco Valley State Park is managed by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources.

Easy riverside trail in the McKeldin Area leading to the McKeldin Rapids, where the North Branch tumbles over rock ledges. Often combined with the Switchback Trail for a longer loop.
Grist Mill Trail

Sawmill Branch Trail
Rocky, root-laced woodland trail following Sawmill Branch to the Patapsco in the Hilton/Glen Artney area. Frequently linked with Grist Mill, Santee Branch and Cascade Falls into a longer loop.
Ridge Trail
Forested ridge trail on the Howard County side, paralleling the river and park road with rolling climbs. Often hiked as an out-and-back or looped with Cascade Falls in the Orange Grove/Avalon area.
